Eyes Turned Skyward - Rebecca Yarros

Eyes Turned Skyward

Since her sister's death, twenty-year-old Paisley Donovan, who shares her sister’s heart condition, is treated like delicate glass by her parents. But nothing will stop her from completing her Bucket List—even if it kills her. And it almost does, until Jagger Bateman pulls her from the ocean and breathes more than air into her lungs—he sets her soul on fire.
Jagger is enrolled in the country's toughest flight school. He's wickedly hot, reckless, and perfect for a girl looking to live life to the fullest. Except that Paisley is the commanding general's daughter, and her boyfriend is Jagger's biggest rival. Now Paisley must decide just how much to risk for a guy who makes her heart pound a little too hard.
They're flying through dangerous territory—and one wrong move could make them crash and burn...

This book was incredible. I was hooked from the very start. Paisley is very sweet, yet strong. Stronger than she, and most of those around her believe. Jagger is so cute, hot, but still very cute and swoon-worthy.

There are a couple of moments in the book where you do get annoyed at the characters for not getting their ish sorted out, but I feel like that when I read a lot of New Adult books. This book has the very cliched story line that we all love. Boy has broken family or past, girl needs saving in some form.

Although it is very cliche, it totally works. It is very well written and the story does keep you want to carry on reading.

I don't want to give too much away since this book hasn't come out yet, but, I feel like I need to warn you. There is a very annoying, yet totally compelling, triangle. If any of you watch The Vampire Diaries, it is like the Stephen, Elena and Damon triangle. She is with one but belongs with the other. It makes for a very good will they, won't they, kind of twist.

It is a HEA (Happily Ever After), so don't fret.

4.5/5 stars and a definite recommendation.
